Today, we headed out fairly early to a stretch of the Appalachian Trail in northern Loudoun County that heads north from Rt 7 to Raven Rocks.  The hike was an out and back with a total distance of 5 miles and mildly hilly.  The last stretch of the trail leading to Raven Rocks actually takes you into West Virginia so this was a multi-state adventure.  Quite exciting!  The weather was beautiful and we were treated to a nice view at the end.  The hike was followed up with a visit to nearby Veramar Vineyards where we did some wine tasting and were all suckered into joining their wine club.  Soon, we’ll all be receiving quarterly deliveries of two exclusive and exciting varieties of wine.  Very high class!    Here are photos from the hike…
